Metts Mansion

As one approaches the Metts Mansion, the eye is drawn to the stately, curving front veranda guarded by a colonnade of 8 Corinthian columns.

North of the colonnade are two walkways and a driveway, all adorned with the original wrought iron gates and fencing. The large arched portico offers a retreat from intense weather and leads to a lush garden area which offers a myriad of green hues and lush textures throughout the year.

Ascending to the veranda are two marble staircases which lead guests into either of two inviting entrances to the home – to the right, the formal Entrance Hall and to the left, the Sun Parlor (for more informal gatherings).

This vantage point, as well as any of the seven stunning balconies of the home, offers an unmatched view of the crown jewel and centerpiece of “The Big Park” – Forsyth Fountain.
